Cheerwine Pound Cake

Cheerwine is a favorite southern soft drink, and it was inevitable that someone would eventually figure out how to take a favorite soft drink and make a southern pound cake out of it! You are gonna just love this recipe.


  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, room temp.
  • 1/2 cup shortening (Crisco)
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 5 large eggs
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 2 tsp. lemon extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup Cheerwine
  • 8 drops red food coloring (optional) but gives the cake a prettier color
