WHODUNNIT “MISSTERIES” – October 15th!!!

October 2nd, 2011

Did y’all know that our very own Mary Kay Andrews was once a famous columnist for the Atlanta Journal Constitution AND is a writer of dark and clever mysteries??? Do you just know that you’ll be going through MKA withdrawal awaiting her new novel NEXT June???

Say it ain’t so! Mary Kay, whose real name is Kathy Hogan Trocheck, has penned 10 fabulous “MISSTERIES” (we call them that, because of course, the hero (or she-ro) is a woman! Callahan Garrity is a hard-boiled ex-cop who finds herself in a myriad of whodunnits in and around Atlanta…Kathy twists and weaves these tales into knuckle-biting, page-turners!

Join us on October 15th from 1-4 PM…Kathy will be at Seaside Sisters for a “Bundle of Books” event…we’ll be bundling Kathy’s books…she’ll be signing them…and you’ll be buying them! Perfect gifts for Halloween enthusiasts or mystery lovers…heck, hide some for Christmas gifts.

Solve our Seaside Sister Mystery and win prizes. Sip on some “Strange Brew” punch and enjoy munchies! We’ll even be raffling off some of Kathy’s titles that are OUT OF PRINT…but WE (of course) have copies!!!

Tricks, treats and “missteries”….whodunnit??? SEASIDE SISTERS DID!!!!

Pirate’s Bootylicious

September 18th, 2011

It’s that time of year again….when flip flops and shorts are replaced by bustiers and pantaloons…it’s PIRATE FEST! From October 6th – 9th, Tybee will be turned into a pirate’s paradise! The pirate partying starts on October 6th with the Swashbuckler Bash under the tent at South Beach…the King and Queen of the Ball will be crowned as well as a Scallywag Costume Contest….(not sure if Scallywag wear is available at Victoria’s Secret).

Friday night brings the opening of the Thieves Open Market, live music and entertainment. Saturday offers the same fun but the pirates arrive (aaaarrrgghhhh) with the Parade at 3:00 PM down Butler Avenue. Sunday the Market continues with live music til 4 PM…then the pirates leave us for another year of plundering elsewhere until next year’s return. (Do Pirates go on booty calls???) Visit the Tybee Pirate Fest website for more details….

Of course, Seaside Sisters is YOUR source for all things piratey and wenchy! Jewelry, hats, scarves, props and all kinds of booty….our pirate plunder sells FAST, so get your pantaloons in here before they’re gone……….now pass me my eye patch and find me a parrot (or Johnny Depp)!

Team Deen Visits Seaside Sisters

September 16th, 2011

The QUEEN of G.R.I.T.S (Girls Raised in the South), PAULA DEEN, made a surprise visit to Seaside Sisters this week! Our favorite deep dish, Southern fried, goddess of gastronomical glam, brought her handsome hubby, Capt. Michael, her creative right hand, Brandon Branch, and the whole crew to the shop for some fun and filming. We’re hoping we’re gonna show up on a future episode of one of Paula’s shows!

Thanks for coming in y’all…we had a BLAST and it seems Paula and Michael had a real thing for our bubble wands (Sister Susan makes the bubble concoction herself).

Paula Chatting with Seaside Sister Deb and Amy Kelleher

And don’t forget that we carry Paula’s cookbooks and a whole slew of her fabulous products at Seaside Sisters…the boast of Georgia’s coast when it comes to coastal decor, clothing and accessories (humble, we ain’t)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

August 13th, 2011

Y’all know about the Miley Cyrus movie shot on Tybee 2 years back (The Last Song)…Hollywood left behind a beautiful old chapel…which thanks to Stacy Jarrell and Tybee Wedding Chapel, has been restored and updated as a venue for weddings and other occasions. It is gloriously beautiful, quaint and right across the street from yours truly, Seaside Sisters!.

August 12th was the grand opening of this little lovely and what an event it was. The headliner was David Tutera…host of “My Fair Wedding”. If you haven’t seen this show, David (wedding planner for the Hollywood elite) steps in and turns some lucky girl’s big day into a wedding dream-come-true! This guy is fabulously cute and tremendously talented…and he came to Tybee!

For more details on the Tybee Wedding Chapel, just click the link below:

And don’t forget that Seaside Sisters is THE place on Tybee for wonderful wedding gifts and accessories. For the coastal bride and groom and their gaggle of guests…we’ve got it all!

If the Van is Rockin…Keep on Knockin!

July 23rd, 2011

Holy E. Shavers Bookstore…. the Sip ‘n Sign/Junkorama Party was a HUGE success. Our tried and true temptress of the Southern tome even signed books sitting in a van!! Who needs Barnes and Noble…we used a Chevy FAN VAN!

The crowd was ginormous and we couldn’t keep MKA’s books in stock…hence the 911 call to E. Shavers in downtown Savannah for more copies of “Summer Rental”. Mary Kay brought tons of her fabulous finds for her Junkorama Sale and needless to say, there won’t be much left after this weekend is over! So get your sandy feet and sunblock into Tybee’s BEST coastal gift shop….Seaside Sisters!

Congrats to Jim and Penny…winners of the Redneck Piknik Baskit!

Pass the Riunite please!!!!!
