The COWGIRLS are Comin!

January 23rd, 2011

Our beloved cadre of cowgirls, Sisters on the Fly, will be arriving on Tybee Island Saturday, April 9th! The Trailer Tour (a MUST SEE!!) will be held from 11-2 at Rivers End Campground, with a book signing and Quilt Raffle to help raise money for the Tybee Tatas.

In case you haven’t met these highway hotties, well, have we got a TREAT for you! Sisters on the Fly consists of 1,400 women from 21 to 88 who just enjoy the comaradarie and comedic commingling of their fellow females…no men, no kids and no dogs, please! They travel the country looking for adventure, fun and the love of the open road. Their fabulous trailers (from the 1950′s to now) range in size from 12 feet to 24 feet and they pull the darn things themselves…no boys allowed! They have gussied up, powdered, upholstered and redone these little beauties like nobody’s business…you have GOT to see em!

OMG in the ATL

January 21st, 2011

Seaside Sister Susan has BRAVED the snow, ice and 15 floors of Atlanta’s Mart for amazing new stuff for the shop. Daily phone calls and emailed photos have her schlepping and shopping a plethora of showrooms to find just the RIGHT items to stock the newly expanded Seaside Sisters space…I mean, we’ve got some square footage to fill up here, ladies! So she’s doing her best to find hip, chic and FUN coastal items that’ll just make you swoon with joy!

Quite honestly, the store is still a big old mess, but Seaside Sister Deb is doing her darndest to make sure the doors are open (as are the aisles!), for your shopping pleasure. Because hell, shopping is supposed to be FUN, ain’t it??? So throw on your cozy sweaters, your new finery from Christmas or your Betty Boop Snuggie, and come on in and see what the Sisters are up to!

In perusing the web, we found a lovely little libation to help take the chill out of winter. (The Intoxicologist!)

Absolut Pear Way to Heaven (or Screven for our Tybee locals!)

2-1/2 parts Absolut Pears Vodka

1 part Coffee Extract

1 part Condensed Milk

1/2 part Amaretto

Pear Slice Garnish

Place liquid ingredients in cocktail shaker with ice. Shake to blend and chill. Strain into martini glass over fresh crushed ice. Garnish with pear slice.

So grab a martini Sisters and get ready for some rootin, tootin, high falutin shopping at Seaside Sisters!
